Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you might want to know before calling in a thermal drone recovery.
How long can a deer be found after it's shot?
This depends heavily on the temperature and weather. Each recovery is different, but deer have been found with drones as long as 48 hours after they were shot.
Can you see through trees with leaves?
While heavy trees can block visibility, it can still be possible to locate deer — it may just take longer.
How can you tell if it is the deer I shot?
Our drone camera is equipped with a 200x zoom, which lets us identify your deer from hundreds of feet away.
Do you fly at night?
Yes. Our thermal imaging and military-grade night vision allow us to search day or night — nighttime is often best for thermal contrast.
What areas do you cover?
We are available in all Virginia counties and will consider out-of-state calls on a case-by-case basis.
What should I do while waiting for the drone?
Back out of the area quietly and avoid tracking on foot. The less pressure on the surrounding area, the better our chances of a clean recovery.
